About the Hunting Ground

Geography of Our Iowa Hunting Leases

Fowl Water Outdoors manages farms across the state of Iowa for hunting leasing in eight Iowa counties: Polk, Marion, Dallas, Hamilton, Clarke, Warren and Madison. We’re constantly expanding the land that’s available to lease for hunting and serve as land managers on over 200 farms. As a farmer or land owner we can provide you with additional income by leasing out your ground for hunting. As a hunter, we can pair you with the perfect deer hunting lease or waterfowl hunting lease.

Deer Hunting Leases and Other Type of Game Leases Across Iowa

Being that Iowa is big buck country - most our or leases are prime deer habitat. We’ve got hunting ground to serve customers who bow-hunt in city limits, as well as those interested in 400-acre leases in southern Iowa. As long as you can describe your ideal hunting scenario, we will find the lease that fits with your lifestyle. Our ground varies in size, location, type of game, difficulty, topography and more.

While we can all but guarantee you’ll shoot a deer on any one of our leases, some of them will certainly be better that others if you’re primarily interested in duck, goose, turkey or pheasant hunting. As we’re working to find the best ground for you, be sure to mention all the hunting you’d like to be able to do. It’s very likely we’ll be able to find a lease with CRP, lagoons, ponds, timber or other ecosystems that naturally attract the game you prefer to hunt.

Hunting Lease Logistics

Payment and Insurance

Prices differ by property and can be found on the individual property pages along with any rules and expectations. Each property is priced based on an evaluation on the land and subject to change year-to-year in order to maintain the value of the land.  All leases are subject to an annual price increase of 3% to account for inflation. Leases are paid in full at the time due by check, cash or credit card for a 4 percent fee. Fowl Water Outdoors holds hunter liability insurance for you.  This is for protection of both the farmers, landowners and yourself.

Properties are not specified as deer or waterfowl exclusive but they have been categorized based on evaluating the land and scouting the wildlife that inhabits it. We encourage you to schedule a visit to the properties you are interested in and will accompany you to talk through pros and cons of each area as well as any improvements we may recommend based its history or the season ahead.

Co-Leasing with Friends and Family

It is common for friends or family members to lease a piece land together. In this scenario, the cost is split between the parties and the contract is signed and paid at the same time by the lessees. All payment must be able to be collected simultaneously  when it comes from different parties. If this isn’t possible, partial payment will not be accepted until the full amount is available and presented.

Fowl Water Outdoors is a community of hunters who appreciate the outdoors, revel in the peace and quiet of the hunt and live for the thrill of taking down a buck or a
flock of geese. We are you;
the diehard hunter.
